Marriage Engagement Soon for Prince William and Kate Middleton?

Julia Bodeeb
A wedding seems to be nearing for England's Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton. Prince William and Kate first started dating in college at St. Andrews University. They have been in a relationship for eight years. Kate is now age 29. She is jokingly called "waity" Katie by the British media as she has waited so long for William to marry her.

But now perhaps the signs are starting that an engagement will be happening in the near future. One sign is that Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, were recent weekend guests at the Queen's Balmoral estate in Scotland, reports Radar Online. Balmoral has a special significance for William. His parents, Prince Charles and Diana, spent their honeymoon there.

Also, Prince William is said to be fond of Kate's parents, notes the Daily Mail. He has vacationed with them and Kate and the young couple has overnight stays at her parents' home. Perhaps visiting with Kate's family gives William a break from the formality of the royal family.

A Proposal Long Awaited

Will William make his move soon? After all, if he wants children with Kate the time to dally is passing quickly. Kate has been very patient with William. But surely by now she is eager for an announcement of an upcoming wedding.

Kate Middleton is not from a royal family. She is a middle class girl dating a Prince. What must it be like for Kate's parents, knowing that their daughter might someday be the Queen of England?

Will the Wedding of Prince William Take Place in England?

Prince William seems to want a quiet wedding. He must still be very wary of the media frenzy after his mother died while the photographers were chasing the car she was in. The Daily Mail reports that William may not even hold his wedding ceremony in England.

"He said he wouldn't be pressurized into a wedding in the Queen's diamond jubilee year because he and Kate want a quiet wedding as far away as possible. They are talking about Scotland."

All of the royal watchers in England will be devastated if the wedding is not held in London. And yet William may be wise to do his own thing for his wedding. Diana's wedding spectacle in London started the media frenzy that she never could escape.

And after all, William is a young man getting married without his mother there. For him the wedding will have overtones of sadness due to the lack of his mother at the ceremony. William might not want anything too ornate as the emotions of the day may be overwhelming to him.

Kate's Wedding Dress Designer: Daniella Issa Helayel?

Rumors are afloat that Kate is already having dresses made by the designer she will likely choose to make her wedding dress. Is the Brazilian-born Daniella Issa Helayel going to be the lucky designer that gets to create Kate's wedding dress? If so she will get worldwide publicity for the dress that will be seen around the world.

This fashion designer already does dresses for many celebrities, notes the Daily Mail. Madonna has worn her evening gowns and Jennifer Lopez, Eva Mendes and Keira Knightley also wear items from her line.

Why do we in America care so much about the British royalty, especially Diana's sons and their lives? Why have they touched so many hearts here?

The royal family loves Scotland. I don't think I'd want my daughter to marry into the royal family, however. It takes a strong person to survive that.

thanks for the update on the royals

I hope it turns out better than Diana's royl marriage. Not easy to be married, but in the royal family much much harder.
