Married to It

Kristine Knowlton
Most people find themselves saying, "I'm married to my work." - which I used to think was just an expression until I began evaluating my time and effort put into the theater company I am with. Well, I happen to be married to my work and waiting for the annulment papers to come in. It was an unplanned marriage, if fact before becoming part of the theater company, I was almost not hired for a part in their latest production. Not only do I perform in the company, I do promotion and publicity, help design graphics, thrown a million ideas for shows out into the air, poured blood, sweat, tears and yes even a zipper into the company. I know I am surrounded by great supporting people, but at times feel ever so lonely. I must realize, deep down there is help out there and not everything rides on my shoulders. Help is always and e-mail away.

Rejection is my truest friend and something I am afraid of - are my suggestions good? Am I way off course? Can I be doing something better? These are things running through my head all the time as of lately. The answer is believe in yourself, take criticism and put it to good use and don't let anyone stop you from turning your dreams into a reality.

Married to it, why yes I am. I wouldn't change anything for the world. It's a feeling that you're unsure of what you're doing or why you're doing it, but you know it makes you happy. Take a dive into the unknown and who knows, you my surprise yourself.
