Marshall-Grant Ministries Inc - High Quality Music Ministry in the GBLTQ Community

Pikes Peak Metropolitan Community Church in Colorado Springs, Co hosted a high quality music ministry July 22, 2007. This music ministry combines the voices of Pat Grant and Carolyn Marshall for an hour of musical praise in a variety of styles, both solo and duet, and humorus sketches. They have been singing and joyfully praising God together as Marshall-Grant Ministries Inc. since 1995. These women are a joy to hear and talk to and their faith in God is powerful and can be heard in every song and sketch they do.

Carolyn Marshall-Soprano/sketches: Carolyn Marshall, the lead singer in the Marshall-Grant Ministries Inc. (MGM for short) grew up in the Baptist church and majored in voice at Mercer University in Atlanta Georgia with the hope of heeding her long felt call to music ministry. After listening to her heart and discovering herself to be a lesbian, she gave up those teenage dreams of music ministry in any church. However the Lord had other plans for her. She later found herself in Decatur Georgia, assisting in the founding of that community's local MCC, Christ Covenant MCC.

Pat Grant- Readers Theater sketches/singer: The other half of the Marshall-Grant Ministries Inc, Pat Grant, had a similar calling. After two years of college that began in 1968, she decided to pursue dreams of theater in New York . She did Summer Stock and toured the east coast with various companies as a puppeteer. Eventually she also ended up in Decatur, Georgia where she finished up her college in 1988 at Agnes Scott College. These ladies became lifelong partners in 1994 and Carolyn's call to the music ministry began to stir again. The Lord has seen fit to use these ladies in a beautiful music ministry to the GLBT community. The songs and very appropriate humor would be perfect for any church, gay or straight, that wants to hear about God's all inclusive love.

The ministry and musical gift that the Lord has given these women is very noteworthy. Carolyn's soprano voice and Pat's comedic sketches provide both music that honors the Lord and a light atmosphere that lifts the spirit of the audience. Together, Marshall-Grant Ministries Inc, make a great music ministry team and a show that doesn't seem to last long enough.
