Marshawn "Quake" Lynch Caused Earthquake in Seattle with Great Run

At 4:43 pm Pacific Coast Time during the Seattle Seahwaks vs New Orleans Saints playoff game on Sunday 1-8-2011, Marshawn Lynch jumped into the end zone and the record books after making one of the most spectacular runs in NFL history. Just as he hit the end zone the seismic reader stationed in Seattle near Qwest Field where the game was played started registering seismic activity.

You can see a video of the run here on YouTube and see the stands shake.

According to John Vidale the director of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, there were no real earthquakes in the area at the time. The seismic activity that registered was caused by the 66,336 crowd at Qwest going nuts as Marshawn Lynch broke at least 8 tackles on his way to putting the Seattle Seahawks permanently ahead of the defending Super Bowl champ New Orleans Saints.

The unbelievable run occurred late in the 4th quarter as the Seahawks pulled off a huge upset and beat the Saints by a score of 41-36.

Lynch's new nickname is now Marshawn "Quake " Lynch. The man who caused a human earthquake to happen with a spectacular mind-bending play.

Of course Marshawn "Quake" Lynch did not cause any massive earthquake. According to Vidale the ground just around the stadium shook with a magnitude of maybe 1 to 2 on the seismic meter but did not register with any other meters.

But his great play did cause Qwest Stadium to shake and the ground under the stadium to register seismic activity of 1 to 2. How many people have ever been able to do that?
