Marshmallow Peeps

Day Seventy-Two

Diane Zoller-Ciatto
I remember each year
The bunny would come
While I was asleep
He'd leave me some!

Those marshmallow peeps
In my basket they stood
Because they were crunchy
They were extra good!

They were only for Easter
A whole year in between
I longed for their appearance
Why were they so mean?

But my wish came true
When they made them again
For Valentines Day, Halloween
And Peeps Christmas trees to ease my pain!

So now when I buy them
I poke holes in the pack
And hide them away
Till they are ready to crack!

Wow, you must be related to my husband! I have to hide the Peeps because he will poke holes in the plastic to make them stale, and I like them soft. I really hate how the Peep chicks look now, tho, they're just globs! Remember when they had features and looked like real chicks?

This REALLY made me smile! None of us ever eat the Peeps, but I buy them every year anyway. It wouldn't be Easter without them!
