The lead instructor for AKK Martial Arts is Chris Crew. He will train you either individually or in a group, both for a good price. He takes students of all ages, levels of martial arts expertise and fitness, and he will teach both men and women (or boys and girls). He offers special classes for children that are designed to develop their self-confidence, develop their personality, and to provide them with the skills needed for them to defend themselves. Sakura Warrior Arts Studio is located in the South East corner of the city and it is lead by Grandmaster Jim Harrison. He has both an M.A. and Ph.D. and is a 9th Dan. This martial arts school is one of the most respected organizations in the city, and it provides students with a variety of martial arts to choose from including: Brazil Jujitsu, Combat Jujitsu, Judo, Sambo, Akido, Karate, Boxing, Taekwando, and Kickboxing just to name a few.
This school also offers special training classes that focus on what you are most interested in: personal development, aerobic exercise, fitness, self-defense, and even combat and competition. Classes are structured for easy acquisition of skills, and last about an hour and a half. This is about twice as long a other martial arts classes, so you are getting a lot for your money. The Missoula Taekwondo Center is a family oriented establishment. Classes are structured to meet the need of each individual including one-on-one help and coaching. The Missoula Taekwondo Center focuses its teaching to Olympic Style Taekwondo as opposed to other martial art schools that teach in a more traditional manner with a full immersion in Asian rituals. However, the Taekwondo Center does integrate some traditions into their training programs including WTF forms Palgwe and Taeguk. New to the curriculum is a self-defense program that will improve a student's ability to defend themselves and to react the most effectively in dangerous situations.
The Missoula Taekwondo Center offers a three-month introductory special for $99 that includes a uniform and three months of instructions. This will save you $118 and it will give you enough time to decide if the center is right for you.
