Martin Luther King Jr Quotes: 'I Have a Dream' Of Love, Not Hate

MLK's Dream of How Love Will Conquer Hate

Bryan Mckinley
Martin Luther King Jr.'s most famous quotes center around his "I Have a Dream" speech. When reading that speech or pretty much anything he ever said, a common theme would occur. He believed in fighting for one's rights, but didn't believe in doing it in a violent manner. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of how love, not hate was the answer. He preached that love could conquer evil and that hate is just a cancer. Here are Martin Luther King Jr.'s top ten best quotes on his dream of everybody being filled with love for each other and not hate.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

A man and his dream

"And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream."

Hate is a cancer

I am so jealous. Than again it might have been kind of scary at such a young age.

I was only 5 or 6 yrs old when my dad piled us into the old station wagon and headed into DC to listen to MLK's Dream speech in D.C. We were living in Maryland. I never saw so many people in one place before :) (or since!) cheers!
