Martin Luther King Jr Quotes: 'I Have a Dream' Of Love, Not Hate
MLK's Dream of How Love Will Conquer Hate
Martin Luther King Jr. says character, not color
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
A man and his dream
"And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream."
Love, not hate
"Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
Martin Luther King Jr. quote on enemies
"Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend."
Quote on love conquering evil
"I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant."

We are all human
"We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools."
Hate is a cancer
"Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man's sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true."
Martin Luther King Jr. quote on preaching peace
"It is not enough to say we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it."
Martin Luther King Jr. quote on war
"Wars are poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows."

Post a CommentI am so jealous. Than again it might have been kind of scary at such a young age.
I was only 5 or 6 yrs old when my dad piled us into the old station wagon and headed into DC to listen to MLK's Dream speech in D.C. We were living in Maryland. I never saw so many people in one place before :) (or since!) cheers!
