Maruti Suzuki Experiences Highest Sales in January 2009

Maruti Suzuki, leading Indian car manufacturer, has experienced highest ever domestic sales in January 2009.

In the month, the company has sold 67,005 units, in the Indian car market that accounts for about 5.6% rise as compared to the corresponding month last fiscal. The previous highest domestic sales were experienced in November 2007 when the company had sold about 65,216 units.

In January 2009, Maruti exported 4774 units and accounts for a total car sales of 71,779 units. The previous highest overall sales were registered in March 2007 with a sale of 71,772 units.

Maruti in January 2009 sold a total of 5571 cars from A1 segment that includes Maruti Suzuki 800 and 7759 cars from the C segment that includes Maruti Suzuki Versa and Maruti Suzuki Omni. From the A2 segment comprising of Alto, WagonR, Zen, Swift, and Maruti Suzuki A-Star the company sold 46,899 units and from the A3 segment comprising of SX4, Esteem, and Dzire Maruti sold a total of 6590 units.
