Marvel Studios: Rachel McAdams to Star in Spider-Man 4
Rachel McAdams Has Signed on to Spider-Man 4 to Play the Character Black Cat
According to a report by Rob Worley at Mania, a reliable source has spilled the beans about who is to play the villain in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 movie and the "cat" has been let out of the bag. The main villain has reported to be a lady and that lady is Black Cat. The exclusive report was released on November 9th and revealed that actress Rachel McAdams met with producers of the film for the major role.
The movie Spider-Man 4 will also feature a two villain concept, one being the Black Cat and the other being the Lizard. The Lizard is a role that has been filled by actor Dylan Baker, who confirmed earlier this year that he had agreed to continue his role as Dr. Curt Connors, who in the comic book world later becomes the villain "Lizard".
Rachel McAdams is best known for her roles in movies such as The Notebook and The Wedding Crashers. This would be a major boost to her career in playing the villain in what will no doubt be a major blockbuster when it is released. McAdams, is a Canadian, who began her career acting at the age of twelve.
There has been wild speculation for the Spider-Man followers as to who will be the villain in the release and it has run the usual gambit of all Spider-Man's arch enemies. This would be the first confirmed report that a villain other than Lizard will be present in the fourth movie. Black Cat began as an arch enemy of Spider-Man, but later in the comic book series the relationship changed and Black Cat began to have feelings for Spider-Man.
Sam Raimi returns as the director of Spider-Man 4, this will be his fourth in the blockbuster series. He has started the casting process already it seems. The movie is slated to start shooting in March 2010 and will be released nationwide May 6, 2011. Both a fifth and sixth movie is in the works in the series and most of the major actors have signed on to continue their roles. Spider-Man 4 will see Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst return, as well as Bruce Campbell.
