Mary J. Blige is Doing Just Fine

"So like what I see when I'm looking at me.
When I'm walking past the mirror,
Don't stress through the night, at a time in my life
Ain't worried about if you feel it
Got my head on straight I got my vibe right
I ain't gonna let you kill it.
See I wouldn't change my life, my life just fine."

I can relate to what Mary J. is saying, she is not only talking about that she likes just her looks when she looks in the mirror, but she likes herself mentally. Mary J. Blige has done it again. She sings as a woman full of confidence, self love and appreciative of the life she has been given. If you do not know who Mary J. Blige is, allow me to give you an unofficial introduction to her.

According to Wikipedia on line free encyclopedia, "Mary J. Blige was born January 11, 1971. She is an American R&B, soul and hip hop, songwriter, occasional rapper (thank goodness for that), record producer, and actress who has sold over forty million records worldwide. She is known as the "Queen of Hip Hop Soul and R&B, and has also received over twenty-six Grammy Award nominations for her works, winning six. Early in her career, Blige highly personal songs and gritty voice earned her comparisons to earlier soul singers such as Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin, however her artistic evolution and commercial success throughout the years has seen her exert her own influence over a new generation of artists.

Mary has grown from a New York Girl on the Block to a New York Lady in the city.

Just look at her video "You Don't Have To Worry from 1992" to "Just Fine 2007" to see what I mean.

Mary has been through it all drugs, a broken heart, father issues and she overcome them all, she also gives consideration and thanks to Intelligent Creator who has given her her beautiful voice.

She gives credit also to her husband Martin Kendu Isaacs (Kendu) who is also in the music profession and also her manager.

The reason why I appreciate her music, she sings about learning how to love yourself, knowing when to walk away from a relationship, and learning to love yourself enough to stop self-destruction.

If you ever have time to go to Yahoo.com look up some of her videos. Her songs don't concentrate on making love, but positive affirmations for young women today.

My favorite videos and songs include, "I'm going down 1995, Be Happy 1995, No More Drama 2001, Rainy Days featuring Ja Rue 2002, It's a wrap 2004, Take me as I am 2006, Enough Crying 2007 and now my favorite thus far Just Fine 2007.

If you want to start thinking positive Ladies about yourself listen to the words and never let another person mistreat you. Learn to love yourself.

I love this song! I'm so glad she got through whatever it was she was going through in order to get to this wonderful place; mentally.

I have always loved Mary, but I have a new profound respect for her because she's a survivor. She has come through soooo much, and still come out on top when the demons of the industry tried to destroy her. She has done a total turn around, and I just love the fact that you can see the love of God shining through, and see the fruits of her new life. For it is written, though your sins be as scarlette, He will wash them white a snow. Great article....Happy Holidays
