Mary Kay Sunless Tanning Lotion: Product Review

In todays day and age having a glowing tan is considered sexy. However with the rise of deadly skin cancers in people as young as their 20's, sun protection awareness is also on the rise. A popular solution to looking tan without the dangerous rays of the sun is to use a sunless self tanning lotion. I have tried several different brands of self tanner in hopes to achieve a natural looking tan. Unfortunately many of the self tanning lotions on the market today give your skin a fake orange oompa-loompa look. Not attractive. I finally tried Sun Essentials Sunless Tanning Lotion by Mary Kay. This lotion is by far the best sunless tanning lotion I have found.

How to use this product:
To receive the best results from this product be sure to exfoliate, wash and completely dry your face before applying the lotion. You can use your hands or a make-up sponge to apply the lotion. Rub the lotion as evenly as possible. Be careful around your eyes and hairline. Remember to wash your hands really well after applying the lotion. Do not shower, swim or exercise for at least an hour after using the this lotion. Apply ever 24 hours in order to achieve a darker tan.

The results:
It only takes a couple hours (the company says the color will completely develop in about six hours) to see the lotion working. If you apply correctly you will not have the noticeable streaks that many of the other brands of sunless tanning lotion cause. Sun Essentials by Mary Kay also gave my skin a natural looking tan, not orange at all. To achieve the color I like on my skin I have to apply every other day. The color usually lasts at least 2-3 days.

Or you can also visit the Mary Kay website and order it directly online. Sun Essentials costs $10.00 however you can often find a consultant who will offer a discount.

The Bottom Line:
Since this is the best self tanner I have tried I would definitely recommend this product to others. My only complaint is that is can be an inconvenience to have to order through a consultant or online. I would prefer to be able to go to the local Wal-Mart and pick it up. But still it is fairly inexpensive and a must have for any girls beauty cabinet.
