Mary's Racecar

The Story of Mary O Andretti

Faye Fairley
Mary bought a little car
The car was very fast
Everywhere that Mary went
Twas nothing she couldn't pass

She took the car to town one day
And speeded through the streets
The cops were always chasing her
But none could match her speed.

She took it to the countryside
To drive the gravel roads
Slinging gravel as she went
She loved to make it go

She drove it to the mountaintop
To get a view of town
Everyone cleared the road
When she started down

It became such a problem
When Mary went out to drive
Everyone had to stay at home
Being fearful for their lives

So the town got together
And made a plan for her
They'd put her on a racetrack
And let her whirr and whirr

She won all the races
The townsfolk put her in
Then she returned an idol
Because of all her wins.

The people gave her a party
With lots of wild confetti
And so goes the story
Of Mary O. Andretti.
