Mass Communication, Why the Internet is Best

Kurt Kesler
The best form of mass communication I use the most to obtain information on national and local news stories is the Internet. I choose to use this compared to all the other forms because I can access the Internet from just about anywhere via home on a computer, at work on a computer and of course my phone. In addition, unlike other media options, the Internet is updated almost right on top of a situation.

Let us look at all forms and see what their influence can be on the public's opinion on say President Obama. Half of the print bashed him, and the other half supported him. However, more importantly for those who do not have access to the internet, it was pretty much the best option for reading about who he is as a person. In radio, such as talk radio, he was bashed; in fact, to this day I firmly believe a majority of those who did not vote for him, we listening to idiots like Hannity, Beck and Limbaugh. (but remember this is the same media outlet that runs continuous commercials for male enhancement drugs.) On television, I dare say he got some of his best "win factor." Even on biased outlets such as Fox News, you were still able to see the man for who he was. And on the internet, whenever one of the other sources made a false statement, the internet was able to dis-spell the falsehoods.

Technology has made it to where as the story is happening we are now able to know about it. Information through technology has been able to spread, much farther, much faster. When I look for credibility, I seriously review the sources track record. If it appears poorly researched and biased, I take that at face value.
