Mass Effect 2 Easter Eggs List

Jacob M. Lee
Bioware's Mass Effect 2 has been an absolute hit. It's been one of the best reviewed games of all time, currently holding a 95.66% on Gamerankings.com, making it the 14th best reviewed game of all time. There are also a number of easter eggs in the game. The following is a list of the better easter eggs. WARNING: Descriptions below may contain spoilers.

Game Store Salesman

In the Citadel, there is a video game store salesman who says a number of hilarious lines. The lines are clearly meant to rip on a number of video game culture related topics, such as used game trade ins, RPGs, World or Warcraft, and video game ratings.

The Robot

If you wait around for awhile, eventually Legion will begin doing a dance well suited for his species.

Uranus

Video (YouTube)

When you "probe" Uranus, EDI is well aware of the old cliched joke and makes sure you know about it.

Drinking Problems

Video (YouTube)

After you purchase a mystery drink from the bar on Illium, you'll notice the bartender looks a tad different than she did before.

Mass Effect 1 Elevators

Video (YouTube)

The elevator scenes in Mass Effect 1 were widely panned, but the Bioware folks definitely have a sense of humor. They know how to poke fun at themselves. If you bring Tali and Garrus along in the Citadel, they have a conversation on the subject.

Dragon Age: Origins

In the basement of Donovan Hock's, you can find a statue of a Dragon Age Origins troll.

Mass Effect 1 Omni-Gel

(This is only available in the Shadow Broker DLC.)

During a particular battle, it's taking a long time to hack a security system. Commander Shepard can't help but mention that security systems were a lot easier hack in Mass Effect 1. You can view the full quote and conversation in the above video by fast-forwarding to the 30 second mark.

Sir Isaac Newton

Video (YouTube)

If you sit and listen to the gunnery chief on the Citadel you'll hear an absolutely hilarious dialogue as the gunnery chief discusses how Sir Isaac Newton is a deadly SOB.

Spam

Pic (Tinypic)

Over a hundred years into the future, e-mail is still around. That doesn't mean Commander Shepard can avoid spam.

Gilbert and Sullivan

Video (YouTube)

It's not so much an easter egg, since the dialogue clearly states it's Gilbert & Sullivan. However, Mordin's parody of the Major General's song (from "The Pirates of Penzance") is one of the funniest additions I've ever seen in a video game. For reference check out the original song here.
