Unveiled at this weekend's Spike TV Video Game Awards, the Mass Effect sequel will be released during the next holiday season.
The teaser trailer first showed a devastated London after a Reaper attack. A sniper character was shown in the ruined landscape before the teaser trailer cut to series protagonist Shepard, looking down at the Earth from a spaceship.
The Mass Effect 3 from BioWare reveal comes in the wake of much speculation after the new game was unofficially outed by an unexpected listing on EA's online store. For more of the latest gaming news and what's hot on the internet check out Forward Buzz.
Launch platforms and a specific release date for Mass Effect 3 by BioWare are yet to be announced.
