Massachusetts Man Accused of Murdering His Mother

Lee Chiero, 35, from Uxbridge Massachusetts is accused of murdering his mother Nancy Chiero 59, Monday, then used her cell phone to phone police to have them check on her well being, according to Metro West Daily News. He also called his brother in law several times and told him "I have done something very wrong".

Mr. Chiero pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday.

His mother was found in the basement of their home. He is being held without bail and transported to The West Boyleson House of Correction.

Uxbridge police and State police both searched for Chiero after he fled the scene of the crime, but was arrested at the emergency room of Newton-Wellesley Hospital when he entered the emergency room with a hand wound and was recognized. He admitted to police he injured his hand during a fight with his mother.

Chiero has a history of violence with police and has been arrested several times within the last 15 years. Charges include assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault by a dangerous weapon, being a disorderly person, disturbing the peace, narcotic charges, and several traffic violations including driving to endanger.

Nancy Chiero was reported by friends and acquaintances as a friendly and outgoing person.
