According to the Center for Disease Control, fever, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea are just a few of the symptoms a person infected with Salmonella Enteritidis will experience within 12 to 72 hours of being infected. The illness can last for 4 to 7 days with a healthy person recovering on their own. However, severe diarrhea could require hospitalization. Salmonella can cause serious injury and or death in infants, young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.
The CDC advises individuals who fear they may be infected from the salmonella tainted eggs to talk to their health care provider.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), confirmed the salmonella illnesses related to the shell eggs are currently investigating with the full cooperation of Wright County Egg. Wright County Egg told the FDA that they will be pastuerizing their existing inventory to kill any salmonella bacteria present.
Consumers who purchased the eggs are to bring the recalled packages back to the store where they were purchased for a full refund. Anyone with questions or concerns about the egg recall and the egg recall expansion visit www.eggsafety.org.

Nancy G- I'm keeping my eye out to see if more are added to the list. But I think 228 million to start was pretty big to being with ;)
This was small, then got larger, wonder if more will be recalled?
It is frightening isn't it?
Glad we have our own chickens!
