Master Tailoring and Bulk Order Deeds in Ultima Online

T.Smith
Tailoring is one of the best skills in Ultima Online for getting high quality PVP (player vs. player gear). My guide will show you how to raise tailoring fast and get the most out of the bulk order deeds. Some players think that crafting is tedious and hard but with the right techniques you can be on your way to getting the perfect pvp set of armor, making gold and having your own legendary tailor to repair all your armor.

Raising Tailoring

Buy a 120 tailoring scroll, those are cheap and readily available. By using a legendary tailoring scroll you will make it so that you can gain skill from making easier items longer and save materials. If you have a house and a commodity deed box (first year veteran reward) you can deed all the materials you need to raise skill and work out of your house.

To get to legendary tailoring expect to use about 50,000 cloth and 5,000 leather and spend about 7-10 hours total. It's a good idea to have 1,000 ingots on hand and enough tailoring to make a sewing kit; you will need at least a couple hundred sewing kits. You can use scissors or recycling bag to reuse materials or you can turn certain items in to the Britain Library for points.

While you are training tailoring make sure to have under 350 total skill points so that If you will get the most skill points possible from the guarenteed gain system. If you want to make high quality pvp armor, make sure that you have set the armslore skill to increase. Armslore increases the number of resists and quality of the item that you make with tailoring. A grandmaster of armslore will get a 1% increase in resistance on an item crafted on a regular shard up to 5%, on siege perilous the maximum bonus is 8%. Although a 5-8% bonus doesn't sound like a lot, it is substantial when you are making high end resistance armor with a barbed kit. Even normal leather armor that you craft will be substantially better if you have the armslore skill. When you make items with tailoring, the armslore skill will passively increase..

Tailoring UO Assist Macro

Use Item Type (sewing Kit), Make Last, Pause 500, Use Item (Scissors), Target Type

As your skill advances, just reset the target type and the macro will make an item and then instantly destroy it for resources. All you will need to do is update the item and target type and make sure your character has resources.

The Bulk Order Deeds:

Once you have over 70 skill in tailoring you can get large tailoring bulk order deeds. The higher your skill is the longer it takes to get another tailoring bulk order deed, up to 6 hours for a skilled tailor. Once you turn in a bulk order deed your timer will reset. You want to get as many bulk order deeds as possible so that you have a chance to get a large tailoring bulk order deed for a barbed kit.

Always turn in small bulk order deeds unless you will get a reward like a barbed kit or something else that you really want. By turning the small bulk order deeds in, you will also reduce the amount of deeds that you have to own and have to organize while maximizing your chances at getting a barbed kit. The Tower of Roses website has an excellent chart showing what rewards you will receive for each bulk order deed.
