Mastering the Art of Time Management

In this incessantly changing world there are several skills that each individual needs to learn in order to thrive. The term skill is defined by the MSN Encarta Online as, "1. Ability to do something well: the ability to do something well, usually gained through training or experience" (MSN Encarta, 2007). There are various skills that enable one to be successful; however, the most significant of all skills is the skill of time management. The skill, "Time management is a set of skills, tools, and systems working together to help you get more value out of your time with the aim of improving the quality of your life" (Time Management, p.1). Mastering the skill of time management will make us not only successful individuals but blissful individuals.

Time is a precious inexorable necessity that is at each individual's disposal. Time is unforgiving and will on no account linger for no one. However, all individuals have the power to control their uses of their time. Time can be successfully spent through the skill of time management. The non-benefiting uses of time can cause "Anxiety, frustration, guilt and other nasty feelings" (Time Management Tips, p.) On the other hand, mastering the skill of time management will make each individual jovial and content. Therefore, it is vital we train ourselves to flow with time and not work against it.

Mastering the skill of time management, will flourish our professional lives along with our personal lives (Time management, p.1). Managing time will assist us to get our professional goals reached and achieved along with our personal ambitions. Managing our time will allow us to get the things necessary done. The skill of time management will also, enable all who master the skill the opportunity to enjoy all life's pleasures to the entirety. Knowing that all the tasks at hand are complete or scheduled to be finished.

The most vital aspect of time management is each individual has to comprehend that "The key to time management is to realize that you cannot possibly do everything that there is to do; instead, you must consciously choose how to spend the limited amount of time you have each day" (Time Management, p.1). All individuals need to prioritize their daily activities and make a schedule for each day. Various methods can be used such as daily journals, calendars, to do lists, and so forth. This will facilitate each individual to consciously choose what needs to be done each day whether it is finishing an important project or spending time with the family. Time management is essential. Our time is valuable and should generally be spent on activities we take pleasure in.
