Mastering Computer Skills

I believe that everyone should master operating computers. Many people these days have no use for a computer so they think. There are so many benefits to understanding how to run a computer. Even if you are not planning to work in the computer field all companies use computers these days.

This is a computer age and almost all things are created first on computers. For instance say you wanted to be a secretary or technical support you must understand how to use a computer. You will have to type out reports, memorandums, and you may even have to set up a slide show.

Even the convenient stores use computers for registers. No matter were you go in this day in age you will see computers everywhere. People can detect when tornados are coming by using certain computer programs. The internet is a great way to keep in touch with the world.

I always say why buy a newspaper when you can either turn on your TV or go online. If you want to find crossword puzzle there is even a web page for that too. I have met people that do not own computers and they don't realize how important they are. I can't imagine not having a computer I use it for everything from playing games to recording music.

Most people play the stock market right from home even. The possibilities are endless what you can create with a computer. When you a lot about computers every one starts coming to you for help. That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on who it might be.

I did a few favors for my wife's manager in Texas. At first he didn't pay me anything and I didn't ask but when I started showing him that I knew a lot more he trusted me to fix his computers and make hardware upgrades. I learned a lot from working there and in the long run he wanted me to create a web site for the business and make me a partner. Of course I was still in the Military so that had to be my higher priority. Because of this I was not able to finish the work I started. but at least I got his site started and made a little money in the process.

Even in parenting mastering computer skills are very helpful when raising your children. There are many different educational sites that make learning fun. If they don't start learning now they will be way behind in the future. Do you really want your children to be better with computers than you? Being knowledgeable about the internet and security is very important so that your children can not get on sites they are not aloud on.

Personally I have a home network so whatever my son does on his computer I can monitor. Just think if more parents could master computer skills they could save there child from being kidnapped. There are predators on the internet and having a good understanding with computers could keep someone like that from reaching your children.

I am not trying to scare any body I am just trying to make a point that this is a computer age and everyone needs to master computers. Some people seem to be afraid of things that they don't understand. There are so many ways to master computer skills they even have books for dummy's and interactive CD ROMS that teach you how to use the computer.

You must face the fact that everything is done with computers even your car has one in it. If the Military did not use computers then more people would have died in the past. Computers run almost everything including tanks. As the technology gets better we will continue to improve on our weapons systems and other things.

I know I can't force mastering such a skill on some body but I can only hope that they may be less afraid and maybe start looking into this skill.

So next time instead of getting angry with some one who doesn't understand help them understand. And if you have not yet began to master computers then continue doing research and learning. I tell you mastering computers will only help make your life easier in more ways than one.
