Summer brings with it longer days and warmer weather. The warm weather offers ample opportunity for dining out with family and friends. No occasion is more cause for celebration than a Friday. This past Friday, my Mom and I went out to lunch with our friend. Matchbox Pizza in Rockville, Maryland was our restaurant of choice for our Ladies' Day Out.
Similar to numerous other industries, I think the success or failure of any restaurant depends largely upon the quality of the service that customers receive. I was impressed with the quality of the service with which we were provided by our waiter. Almost as soon as we were seated, our waiter gave us ice water and menus. He was very courteous and attentive to our needs.
Every entrée which was featured on the menu looked absolutely scrumptious! We sipped our water and reviewed our menus carefully. No one wanted to make a mistake in our meal selection. My Mom even asked our waiter for his advice on her meal selection. When it was all said and done, mom ordered a green salad for lunch. Our wonderful friend's presence in our home for Sunday dinner is an enjoyable highlight of our week. Although Mom and I spend time with her quite often and she travels with us on occasion, the three of us dining out is an extra special treat! In honor of our Ladies' Day Out, she ordered a hamburger. While our friend enjoyed her hamburger, she mentioned that her hamburger was a little overcooked. When I am dining out, I must admit that I am pretty predictable in my entrée selection. Since my first visit to Matchbox Pizza earlier in the year, I have always enjoyed their delicious chicken pesto pizza. My most recent visit to Matchbox Pizza was no exception.
During a challenging time of recession when many people are being cautious in the way in which they spend their discretionary money, I think that Matchbox Pizza is a rare find. In the case of other restaurants, one often has to make a choice between eating a quality meal and spending a reasonable amount of money in the process. Thankfully, we did not have this dilemma when we visited Matchbox Pizza. I think that the tremendous success of Matchbox Pizza can be attributed to reasonable prices and high quality food. No wonder Matchbox Pizza has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants!
