Mattel has been producing Holiday Barbie dolls for twenty years and the Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie marks it twentieth anniversary. Thus the Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie represents a lavish and glamorous Barbie, just the like lady we dream of becoming. The Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie wears a silver gown that glitters. The gown has a tiered pleated skirt, adding to the chic factor of this doll. She wears silver drop chandelier earrings and has her long locks glamorously pulled up. She almost looks like a silver snowflake. Exquisite.
The backdrop of the Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie is a red foil background with Christmas ornaments and three-dimensional snowflakes. The Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie sparkles against this background, like the stunning snowflake that she is. The Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie measures around twelve inches tall. The Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie is very detailed compared to the regular Barbie Doll models, her face is exquisitely painted and her gown is very ornate. She wears white stiletto heels making her look like a princess at a ball.
The Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie is so nice to look at even from outside the box. There is no need to take it out, and if you are a collector like myself, you will not. If you want to give this to little children as a gift however, please take note that this is not the right Barbie to give children under eight years old. There are a lot of chocking hazards incorporated into the design of the Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie, so please do not take the risk.
The Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie is really made to be a display doll because unlike the other regular Barbie Dolls, you do not have to hold it to make her stand up. It has a plastic stand of its own. Also very noticeable is that this Mattel 2008 Holiday Barbie is not the shapely-bombshell we are used to. It is a slim and elegant Barbie, which I really prefer.
