Matthew McConaughey, Camila Alves Expecting; Celebrity Pregnancies on the Rise

Hollywood: one of the well known west coast cities that never sleeps; that statement is proof positive because the recent celebrity baby boom continues to grow. Over the past few weeks, a handful of new celebrity pregnancies have come to light, here's a look at who's having whose baby and how it affects the world of Hollywood.

Camila Alves

22 year old brazilian model Camila Alves is expecting her first child with 38 year old actor Matthew McConaughey. Alves, a native of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, has modeled in Brazil, The United States, Paris and Milan. She has also had roles in several Brazilian TV commercials and a small role in Disney's Snow Dogs, starring Cuba Gooding Jr. Throughout the U.S. she is best known for being Matthew McConaughey's girlfriend.

The couple has been dating for over a year and this is the first child for both individuals. Shortly after the news leaked, McConaughey posted comments on his blog stating that he and Alves made the baby together and that they are very stoked about the new development. They are very excited to meet their child and are looking forward to guiding him or her through life. Alves is 3 months pregnant.

Nicole Kidman

The rumors have finally been confirmed, actress Nicole Kidman and singer Keith Urban are expecting their first child together. The rumors were initially denied but now the couple says they are thrilled to be expecting.

40 year old Kidman has two adopted children from her previous marriage with ex-husband Tom Cruise; Isabella - 15 and Connor - 12. She has been very open about wanting to have another child. Kidman miscarried from an ectopic pregnancy while married to Cruise, so while it isn't know exactly how far along she is at the moment, judging from past pregnancy experiences, she is probably at least 4 months pregnant.

Jamie Lynn Spears

By now everyone has heard that 16 year old younger sister of Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn is expecting. The news was very shocking to the American public and has raised much controversy over issues such as teen pregnancy, parental control and effective decision making. Star of Nickelodeon's Zoey 101, Jamie Lynn had begun to make a name for herself in the world of Hollywood.

A shadow had been cast over Jamie Lynn because of all of the gossip and controversy surrounding her older sister, but she fell right back into the spotlight with her shocking announcement. Jamie Lynn and 18 year old boyfriend Casey Aldridge had been living together when Spears became pregnant. Since then, the couple has broken up.

Jillian Grace

Jillian Grace isn't as well known in the world of Hollywood as Jamie Lynn Spears, but the 22 year old Playboy Playmate has recently announced her pregnancy and claims that actor David Spade is the father of the child. Jillian Grace became a Playboy Playmate after being discovered by doing test shots for the Howard Stern show. Grace, who was named Miss March 2005, has also appeared in the film parody Epic Movie.

Many find it hard to believe that Jillian Grace would have associated with David Spade but Spade acknowledges that the two had a brief relationship. He says that if he is truly the father of the child, he will accept the responsibilities.

These are just a few of the Hollywood mothers that are currently expecting. Many more are almost due or have just recently given birth to their own 'bundles of joy'. As the baby boom in Hollywood continues, the big question is: who is next?
