Maurice Clarett's Blog Spurs Massive National Interest

Maurice Clarett's Blog: What Does the Troubled Running Back Have to Say?

Maurice Clarett, one of the Ohio State Buckeyes' former superstar football players, apparently has been blogging from prison. Maurice Clarett was a standout running back for the Buckeyes, and was a big driving force behind the 2002 National Championship run.

Clarett is currently serving jail time for robbery, carrying of a concealed weapon, and resisting arrest, and it appears as if he is making the most out of his time in prison. It appears that a big driving force behind his ambitious blogging is the fact that he does not want to see similar run ins with the law, as well as extended prison time, happen to other people. Through his blog, Clarett believes that he will be able to make this positive impact on the world around him.

Surprisingly, Maurice Clarett does not have access to a computer in the jail where he is serving time. Using the telephone to transmit his articles and ideas, he gets family members to post them up on the internet for everyone to read. This must make it extremely difficult for Clarett to follow up on user comments to his posts. With 24/7 computer access, Clarett would be able to respond to fans, family members, and readers in a timely manner, possibly promoting more discussion and bringing more nationwide and worldwide traffic to his blog posts.

Clarett discloses that he has an interest in public speaking in his blog, so it will be interesting to see if he actually follows through with his goals that he is taking time to blog about. He is currently enrolled in university courses, so he is also exploring educational options on the side as well.

Clarett's blogging and his desire to turn his life around have been apparent, and undoubtedly is having an impact on all kinds of people who read and engage themselves in his blog material. Many doubters of Clarett's character seem to have changed opinions after perusing his blog content.

Maurice Clarett, a running back, had arguably one of the most impressive freshmen seasons in NCAA college football history. In 11 games, Clarett posted 1,237 rushing yards on 222 carries, averagine 5.6 yards per carry. He scored an astonishing 16 touchdowns. After being denied entry into the 2004 NFL Draft, Clarett entered the 2005 NFL Draft, after a disappointing combine workout. He was drafted much higher than projected-#101 overall-in the third round by the Denver Broncos. He was released later in the year, and no team took a chance on the troubled running back.
