Maurice Clemmons Named Person of Interest in Lakewood Police Shootings

A manhunt for Maurice Clemmons is underway. Maurice Clemmons has been named a person of interest, and thus Maurice Clemmons is being sought by authorities who have questions for the man who left jail just one week ago. Maurice Clemmons is currently wanted for questioning in the murders of four Lakewood police officers in the morning hours of Sunday, November 29th. It hasn't been made clear what his tie to the case currently is, but there must be a good reason that Pierce County is looking for the man in connection with the crimes. They aren't stating that he is a suspect at the time, but rather a person of interest in the investigation.

Details about the past of Maurice Clemmons have been coming out pretty quickly, as he has a very checkered background that involved a number of crimes. He has at least five felony convictions in the state of Arkansas according to a Seattle Time report that was released this evening, and he has a long history of violence, erratic behavior, and questionable mental health that are definitely alarm bells when it comes to tracking down this man. Clemmons has also had at least eight felony charges against him in Washington State as well, showing that he hasn't corrected his behavior since arriving in the state.

Former governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee apparently granted him clemency nine years ago, commuting his lengthy prison sentence despite the protests of prosecutors. If Maurice Clemmons is tied to these crimes, or if it turns out that he is the man guilty of committing these murders, then Mike Huckabee is going to have a lot of questions to answer. It's also at question as to why Clemmons is even out of jail right now, as he has been waiting to face charges of child-rape in Washington, but was allowed to post bail of only $15,000 in order to get out into the public once again.
