Max Factor Makeup Review
ColorGenius Mineral Blush, Lipfinity Lipstick and Lash Perfection Volume Couture Mascara
Max Factor ColorGenius Mineral Blush
This mineral blush retails for about $15.00. The color I tested was 110 Peaches. There are actually 3 different shades of blush in the compact that you blend together to create a customized look. I found that the mineral blush applied smoothly and made my skin look like it was naturally flushed. It also felt lightweight on my skin. I was impressed with the staying power, the color lasted all day and didn't fade or turn orangey like some blushes will do. This particular blush is made in Italy, is fragrance free and 100% oil free. It gets 4 out of 5 stars from me.
Max Factor Lipfinity Lipstick
I tested the color 152 Burnished, which turned out to be a little too orange for my liking. But since I wasn't paying for the product I got what was given to me. It retails for about $15.00. The lipstick comes packaged with lipcolor and a moisturizing topcoat. Interestingly, the lipcolor is made in Ireland and the topcoat is made in China. Wanting to give the product a fair test, I followed the instructions on the back of the box telling how to apply each item: Apply lipcolor to clean lips and don't press lips together for 60 seconds to let your lips dry, then apply topcoat to give shine and use topcoat throughout the day like a lipbalm to refresh the look and feel of your lips. The box says this lipstick is food-proof, kiss-proof, party-proof and life-proof and lasts up to 16 hours. Wrong! It lasted about 5 hours through a cup of coffee and a Danish for breakfast, and a soda and slice of pizza for lunch ... then I had to apply more lipcolor because the color started getting uneven and blotchy. My lips also felt heavy and thick and a bit sticky from the topcoat, although I did like the shine the topcoat gives. I give this lipstick 2 out of 5 stars.
Max Factor Lash Perfection Volume Couture Mascara
I tested the color 801 Rich Black. I normally prefer a brown shade because it's less harsh and looks a bit more natural. The mascara retails for around $7 and is made in the US of US and imported parts. This new high volume and definition mascara comes with a new type of applicator brush which has iFX brush technology with volumizing micro-channels. This new technology is supposed to help volumize each individual lash. I was impressed with the brush because my lashes had a natural look and they didn't clump together like they tend to do with other mascara's. I also like that the product is hypoallergenic, suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, and washes off easily. Since it's not waterproof it will smudge off a bit if the skin under your eyes is oily, at least that is what I experienced. I give the mascara 4 out of 5 stars.
Summary:
Out of the three Max Factor products I tested - ColorGenius Mineral Blush, Lipfinity Lipstick, and Lash Perfection Volume Couture Mascara - I'll only continue to use one of them. I liked the blush but the price is too steep for my pocketbook, the lipstick didn't live up to the hype, but the mascara stood out in every area that is important to me and I will continue to use it.

The mineral blush sounds like a good product. I'll look for that the next time I'm at the drugstore.
