The book incorporates the verse, "Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." (John 4:14; NIV) Lucado tells readers to gulp not sip, to live and breathe the Lord. He makes many examples of modern day Christian living that feels right but is simply not enough. Many people are living with a little Jesus on the side. One must have an intimate relationship with Jesus to truly live as a Christian. Lucado's end of the chapter discussions cover every topic of concern. Everything from why we suffer to God's plan for us, it truly is amazing how on point Lucado is. The book is organized well for easy understanding and very entertaining as well.
I started this book as part of a church wide reading experience. The book comes with the option of individual sale or can be purchased as a set with educational components. The packaged deal includes a book of daily devotions, workbooks for adults or children, audio and guides. It is so wonderful that both my five year old and I were able to experience this book and it's lessons together. At the end of the book , one will find a reader's guide; perfect for maximum spiritual growth. Max Lucado has thought of everything!
This was a fantastic experience. It has changed my whole perspective on Christian living. I encourage anyone searching for life's answers, wanting to open their eyes to living better or just wanting a book that will leave them feeling very whole, to read this book. Come Thirsty shares Christ's incredible love for us. Quench your thirst!
