Maxell EB95 Lightweight Stereo Earbud Headphones Review
An Inexpensive Choice when it Comes to Replacing IPod Headphones
Look
The headphones are a stylish shape and black to go well with your black iPod, perhaps. They are designed to fit easily in your ear, much like iPod headphones, though their shape is slightly more dramatic so that they really fit closely within your ear. The jack end of these headphones is a right angle as opposed to a straight line like the iPod ones. This personally is a disadvantage to me, since I really love the straight look. They are hard plastic, like iPod headphones, so you are used to that you may enjoy that aspect.
Sound
They are very loud headphones--about 25% louder than normal headphones says one reviewer. Maxell brags that they are designed to create quality sound, but obviously being a low end set of headphones they deliver what you would expect. The real advantage of these headphones is their portability and price. They should also last a long time without wearing down. If you would like to walk around with huge headphones, you can get a much better sound, but for those of us who want to run with a little music, these smaller, cheaper headphones will be a good buy.
Conclusion
These are not the best headphones on earth and no one will claim that they are, but neither are the iPod headphones that you have been used to using. If you are one of the people who immediately got a new pair of headphones after buying your iPod, then these are not the headphones for you, but if you are looking to replace your old cheap headphones then look no further. It is hard to find a product so marked down that delivers exactly what it promises. Quality headphones for a low, low price.
