Let me suggest for those who go to movies frequently that you join whatever membership opportunities they offer. I am a member of AMC's Movie Watchers Club. I have a card which is swiped each time I go to a movie. When I reach a certain amount of points I get a free small soda or popcorn. On Wednesdays each Movie Watcher member receives a small popcorn with ticket purchase. As the points build I receive a free ticket, then it progresses to a free ticket or a large soda and large popcorn. The better deal is the soda and popcorn because as I said I attend matinees and the most a ticket would be is $8 whereas a large soda and popcorn is $11. The next progression is what they call a Free Movie Night which includes a ticket, large soda and popcorn.
Over the weekend we took the grands to see Ice Age DOTD and the only theater showing it in 3D was the Regal which I had not been to in a year or so. I am still a member of their club and upon purchasing our tickets I was given a free medium popcorn and a free ticket for my next visit. So I highly suggest that if you go to the movies regularly you should without a doubt become a member of any clubs they offer. Right now I hold a free ticket to a movie at Regal and a Free Movie Night for AMC Loews.
To add to these freebies Movie Watcher members also get to participate in surveys which enter them into monthly drawings for a $100 movie card. There are a lot of benefits to be had by joining up and nothing at all to lose. For other ways to save money on any and everything such as dinner out in nice restaurants buying one and getting one entree' free that is my wife's area of expertise, plus she is the lady in line at the grocery store pulling out all the coupons. Plus at these restaurant we sign up for their email clubs and receive free meals on birthdays and anniversaries. Every once in a while we receive coupons for free appetizers as well.
I hope this help some of you to save money and enhance your movie watching experiences, as well as, save you money on all your social activities. Just one more piece of advice. When using the free meal coupons in restaurants tip according to what the meal would have cost instead of what it is. Makes the waiters/waitresses not have preconceived notions regarding coupon holders. We are not cheap we are thrifty
