During the break, his team had tables of healthy food choices that included the "good" chocolate, kale chips, almond bars and "no tuna" tuna just to name a few. Dr. Roberto and his team told us about healthy fat and the fact that we need fat in our bodies in order to burn that unwanted "bad" fat. There was a wealth of information and today I caught up with Dr. Fred Roberto and wanted to learn even more about Maximized Living and here's what he had to say.
YAHOO: Good morning Doctor! Thank you so much for speaking with us today.
Dr. R: My pleasure Karen. Thanks for coming to the Total Food Makeover.
YAHOO: Dr. Roberto. Please tell us a little bit about your background in Health and Fitness
Dr. R: I suffered from migraines growing up and found that drugs were just not the answer. Right before college, I was introduced to chiropractic and it changed my life. I knew from that very moment that I wanted to be a chiropractor. It is the only profession that focuses on the nervous system- the very system that controls every function in your body. I opened my practice in 1997 and over the years, I have seen the most amazing transformations in our patients. We focus on every facet of health or what we call, the 5 Essentials. When people get plugged into our programs, it is not unusual to see excess weight come off, the need for medications wane, energy to increase, and families to thrive.
YAHOO: Tell our readers about the MaxFit Plan. What is it?
Dr. R: As a lifelong athlete, I knew the value of exercise and fitness and wanted to use what I learned and bring it to the average person. I developed the MaxFit program on the principles of surge training, functional fitness and muscle confusion. This allows a person to become totally fit all around- not just have big biceps. The biggest thing we have found through the program is that people can get extreme results in only minutes a day. This has been a great breakthrough because when asked why people don't exercise, not having time is the biggest reason. The MaxFit program eliminates that objection entirely. This type of exercise resets your hormones and metabolism and gets your physiology to work FOR you instead of against you.
YAHOO: I have heard a few great testimonials from people that have taken the 30 day challenge to becoming fit and healthy. What should people do as a first step?
Dr. R: The first step is to come in for a consultation at our office or attend one of our events. We will walk you step by step through the 5 Essentials, let you know what to expect, and closely monitor your progress.
YAHOO: Tell me about your practice Dr. Roberto. Where are you located and what services do you provide?
Dr. R: We are located in Powder Springs, GA but the Maximized Living network has over 350 doctors across the country. We offer nervous system evaluations and chiropractic care, advanced spinal correction techniques, nutritional coaching, exercise coaching, toxicity screenings, and general health education.
YAHOO: What advice can you give to people that are struggling with their health and weight?
Dr. R: The very first essential: Maximized Mind is where everyone needs to start. We always work very hard to get people to realize their potential. It is important to "reset" the software people have been running on so long that is holding them back. We also provide the information and tools necessary to help them navigate through the sea of mis-information that they have been subjected to. Once they have made the commitment to themselves (and sometimes more importantly, to the people who love them) to improve their health, the rest falls into place. The programs we have seen thousands go through do not fail! We've seen people fail the programs but the programs never fail them.
YAHOO: I understand you have a book called Maximized Living Nutrition Plan? Tell me what inspired this book.
Dr. R: Actually, my wife and another Maximized Living doctor in Canada co-authored the book. We had always been able to provide people with tons of information on nutrition but when they would leave our office, they became lost, not knowing where to start, and would revert back to their old nutritional habits. The book is the culmination of years of compiling information and actually helps people to ACT on their nutrition. It has all of the research and background on how and why the diet plans work, sample meal plans, shopping lists, and over 100 recipes. It is really more of a handbook or resource guide than an informational book that you read once and put on the shelf.
