Maybe you'll let me go
Maybe I'll hold your hand
Maybe you'll say no
And maybe I'll understand
Maybe things will change
And the tide will turn my way
Or maybe you're just thinking of our time together
As a terrible mistake you made...
I'm the one that clings to hope
As the door to your heart swings shut
While the ball in your court, bounces away
I'm reminded of the "who, when and what"...
What you said meant a lot to me
And who you are really drives me insane!
When you find the time, for dinner and wine
You're like a movie on a slow moving train...
Maybe someday I'll let you know
What's going on inside of my heart
Sometimes the things that bring us together
Can also keep us apart
Maybe that last line was kind of cliché
And maybe it just didn't come out quite right
Maybe I'm just thinking about the last time I saw you
...the last time we kissed good night
I wish I had the words, to tell you how I feel
The vocabulary seems trapped in my head
Maybe I'll just dream of the things we used to say
As I fall asleep and sing myself to bed...
