The same holds true with cosmetics. When companies and consumers decide on something new and popular, it's virtually impossible to find your favorite "tried-and-true," because the companies frequently stop manufacturing it. While I consider most cosmetic items to be more or less interchangeable, the one item I've always been picky about is foundation-- I will not wear water-based foundation, because I do not like it. The catch being, water-based foundations have been what is popular for a very long time; and I would hesitate to say how long I've gone without using any, as my longtime favorite, Max Factor Whipped Creme, has not been available for quite a few years.
Upon first seeing magazine ads for Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, I was a bit wary-- first, I'd never had any interest in Maybelline products because the company seemed too old-fashioned; but mostly because I generally assume that anything billed as "new" is usually just a sales-gimmick, and not very satisfactory in the longrun.
Deciding that going without had gone on long enough, I was determined to find something-- and Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse was a pleasant surprise. My only complaint about this product is that the list of ingredients is so dinky that it was difficult to read; but in reading ingredients which were along the line of "-iloxane," "-icone," and "-alane," it met my intial, most important criteria: it is not water-based. Not a clue what those ingredients are, but they're not water. Good enough.
Upon purchasing a jar of Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse for $8.50, which these days isn't too bad, the first pleasant surprise was that there is much more product in the jar than you can see before opening it. Unopened, in the store, it looks like there's very little, but it turned out that was only because the lid is so large.
The next surprise was that in being a "mousse," Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse has a much better texture than my previous favorite. It is not at all greasy or sticky, like most oil-based foundations. Yet upon trying it out, I found that it isn't drippy and doesn't streak the way water-based foundations usually do, and has the much-preferred "staying power" that I've come to expect in good foundation.
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse is the best foundation I've found in many years. It's long-lasting; the price is very reasonable; there is a good variety of colors; it is definately a product worth trying. I even came across a site where you can do exactly that: http://www.maybelline.co.uk/whats_new/touch_our_mousses.htm.
If you're in the market for a new foundation, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse is one you should check out.

Post a CommentI love this stuff, I'm never going back to different foundations!
I love this stuff. . I use sand beige and matches my skin tone exactly. It is better than any of the mineral foundations Ihave tried. I will stick wtih Dream Matte Mousse.
I'm going to have to try this. I always have difficulty finding a foundation that I'm truly satisfied with.
