For years I have used Neutrogena blushes. I have always felt that they give my skin a healthy glow. This time around I figured I would try something different. Seeing advertisements in several magazines for Dream Mousse Blush by Maybelline, I decided to give it a try.
I purchased my Dream Mousse in Soft Plum for just under $8 at CVS. It is always interesting if a product will live up to its name. The blush comes in a little glass tub that reminds me of the gel nail polish tubs my manicurist uses.
The contents of the tub looked appropriately just like a mousse. I pulled some out with my finger and put a dab on each cheek and then thought okay now what do I do? For years I had used powder blushes so the concept of using my finger to apply was foreign to me. Quickly I had it all figured out. Slowly I rubbed the mousse into my cheeks where I wanted the blush to stain.
As promised the Dream Mousse was light and airy feeling. Being that I hate feeling like I have caked on makeup, I generally mostly focus on finding the least suffocating makeup out there. Dream Mousse certainly fit the bill.
The color was pretty without being overwhelming. I have only tried the Soft Plum, which is a very pretty pink with a hint of plum.
Working for at least 8 hours a day also means that my makeup has to last for hours. Being that this makeup is not a powder but yet feels so light, I was a bit skeptical that it could do that. It passed the test however. My cheeks still had a pretty pinkish-plum shade staining them even after 12 hours!
Still a huge fan of all Neutrogena products, my new find does not mean that I will abandon an old favorite, however it is nice to have a few favorites!
