Maybelline Expert Wear Blush Vs. E.L.F Natural Radiance Blush

Alexis Valentine
Blush is a great product to have whether you want add some color to your cheeks for summer or winter, or you're using it with a full face of makeup. I've tried all sorts of blushes, cream blushes, cream-to-powder, powder and even stick form blushes. Finding the right shade of blush isn't always easy, and wearing the appropriate color with your makeup is another story. I don't keep too many blushes in my makeup drawer but the ones I have are by E.L.F and Maybelline, both are powder blushes.

I bought my Maybelline Expert wear blush at Wal-Mart for about $5. It's suppose to be a non-fading blush that adds color to the cheeks for a natural looking blush. I got mine in the color pinch o' pink. There are several things about this blush that I like, one being that since it's made by Maybelline it's easy to find and can be bought anywhere that sells makeup. There's nothing that annoys me more than not being able to find a product that I want. I also like that this blush comes in many colors to choose from and it comes in a chic black compact with a mini brush. I haven't had any problems with break outs so it's safe to say that it doesn't irritate my skin.

The downside to this blush is that the brush that comes with it is a cheap, generic flat blush compact brush and not a real blush brush. Even though it claims to be non-fading it really isn't. It hasn't lasted more than a few hours for me. The color payoff isn't very good either. It's a tad too light for me and I don't even have a dark complexion. I'd really have to apply a lot of product to get the color to show true to color on my cheeks.

As for my E.L.F natural radiance blush it only costs me $1 off of E.L.F's website eyeslipsface.com. I got it in the color glow. There's quite a few things about this blush that I love and that's the color. Glow is a peachy golden color that looks absolutely gorgeous on my skin. Not only does it look fabulous on my skin but it's a versatile color. I can see myself wearing it for any season. I can wear it during summer if I want a golden sun-kissed look or during winter to add a healthy glow to my cheeks. The color payoff is amazing too. I didn't need much product to get an intense color. The blush doesn't irritate my skin and I like the sliding lid packaging. The best part is that the colors lasts for most of the day. I've worn this blush many times for all day wear and very rarely did I need to reapply.

There are a few negatives to E.L.F's natural radiance blush like it's size and that it doesn't come with a brush. Most of E.L.F's products come in a small size and because it's so small there's no where to put the brush. It's a good size to carry around but I'd have to carry around a blush brush too. Another downside to E.L.F's natural radiance blush is that there aren't as many color choices to choose from and it's hard to find. E.L.F products in general aren't available in most stores so the best place to get their products is to order off of their website.

Both blushes have their pros and cons but between the two I prefer my E.L.F natural radiance blush in glow. Not only is it so much cheaper in price than Maybelline but I consider it the better product as well.
