Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color is the Best Longwearing Lipstick on the Market Today

One of the few beauty products I suggest women always wear is lipstick. That little touch of color can make the difference between a drab and fab look. I'm a big fan of the latter, but not so much of the former.

When I look for a new lipstick, there is one thing I always search for - - staying power. I don't want to have to reapply the color every five minutes in order to keep looking good. Consequently, the longer staying the lipstick, the more likely it is to capture my purchase.

My newest favorite longwearing lipstick comes from Maybelline. It is called Super Stay 24 Color. It calls itself that because it promises to be the longest wearing lipstick on the market today. But does it live up that promise and others? Let's take a look and see.

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color does appear to stretch the boundaries when it comes to longwearing lipstick. It promises a full 24 hours of coverage. Most others only claim 8-hour coverage. Of course they don't actually deliver on that promise. Does this product keep its promise?

No, it doesn't. Don't get me wrong, Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color is the longest wearing lipstick I have found to date. I applied some at 6:00 p.m. one evening and still found much of it on my lips over 12 hours later. However, that was still 12 hours short of its claim. Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color gets 2 out of 5 stars on this one.

The product promises to glide on easily. Does it?

Yes, it does. The super creamy formula feels amazing going on. It covers evenly and looks absolutely beautiful once it is in place. It provides just the right amount of gloss without looking overly artificial. I love it. It gets 5 out 5 stars on this claim.

Next, it promises not to cake or flake like a lot of other longwearing lipsticks do today. Does it deliver?

Yes, it does. Unlike a lot of longwearing lipsticks that contain drying formulas that dry out, crack, and then cake up and flake off, Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color doesn't do any of that. It wears off evenly and naturally. It gets another 5 out of 5 stars.

The product also promises not to feather. That is an important factor for aging lips, but does it deliver on that promise?

Yes, it does. I admit to having those fine lines and wrinkles around the lips but my Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color stays put on my lips and off of my facial skin. For that, the product receives another 5 out of 5 stars.

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color says it won't fade in color. Is that true?

Yes, it is. I chose a bright red lipstick that I fully expected to look pink before the evening was over. It did not. Color me happy. That is worth another 5 out of 5 stars.

A big fan of kissing myself, I'm always worried about the transfer factor of any lipstick I choose. Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color promises it won't transfer, but does it?

No, it does not. The lipstick stayed on my lips. There was no trace of it on my drinking glass or eating utensils. There was none on my husband's lips or my son's cheek. It kept its promise for another 5 out of 5 stars.

Finally, Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color promises to keep lips soft and pliable. Does it deliver?

Yes, it does. The two step process, which consists of color followed by moisturizing lip balm, ensures that the color is sealed in while the lips are moisturized and protected. The product gets another 5 out of 5 stars.

That is 33 out of a possible 35 stars, which is excellent. This product is a winner in my book.

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color comes in 30 colors which include beautiful pinks like Blush On, Infinite Petal, Never Ending Pearl, So Pearly Pink, Timeless Rose and Won't Move Mauve.
