Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor

Almost Permanent

When the two dental hygienists who helped out during your three-hour dental surgery comment on the durability of your lipstick and ask what brand it is, you can pretty much rest assured that you're onto a good product. And I even smoked then! Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor is a solid find and the only "lipstick" produc that I buy anymore.

It was introduced a year or so ago as one of the "newer" style lipcolors that you apply in a 2-step process: first a semi-liquid color applied with a brush or foam tip, followed after the color dries with a wax-type sealer applied like a regular lipstick. I first bought it on one of those "new product" sales and loved it. I then tried to save a little money and chose a similar, cheaper product from a different brand and that was an utter failure. So, I've learned my lesson and my loyalty.

Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor is available in a large variety of color shades, ranging from pinks and oranges to fantastic, deep cherry and ruby reds. Perhaps because of the liquid nature of the color, or maybe the wax sealer, these colors seem to be both shinier upon application and wear. I've only found and used one color that could remotely be described a matte, and that was a more neutral shade that was probably a tube I mistakenly purchased. So, if a matte look is what you're seeking, be cautious.

Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor is available at most every chain drugstore and mass merchandiser and some grocery stores and supermarkets. Its price is a reasonable cost for a durable cosmetic that lasts so long with each individual application and it is frequently on sale. My only semi-"con" for this product is that it doesn't moisturize as much as my lips need during Spring Training, so I've learned to use a bedtime application of petroleum jelly or a chapstick product to prevent chapping while it's still cold and windy.
