At first, I tried the Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Mascara for approximately two weeks. I didn't notice any itching or irritation, which was great. After the two-week period was over, I came to the following conclusions about this particular mascara:
1.) No Clumps - unlike mascara I've used in the past, this product didn't cause unsightly clumps to form on my lashes. I was able to smoothly apply the product with no problems whatsoever.
2.) Natural-looking - never before had I used mascara that gave me such natural-looking results. The product made my natural eyelashes appear thicker and longer, but without looking artificial.
When it came to the Cover Girl Volume Exact Mascara, I must admit that I was equally impressed. Like with the Maybelline product, there was no allergic reaction, which I was again grateful for. This product was about the same price as the Maybelline, and it had some really good qualities as well. These qualities were:
1.) Waterproof - even though I don't cry often, nor do I swim much, I still wanted a mascara that doesn't wash off as soon as it comes into contact with water. I have allergies, and sometimes my watery eyes will drip down my face, ruining my mascara, but not Cover Girl Volume Exact Mascara. This mascara is awesome because of this aspect and more.
2.) Long-lasting - nothing is more annoying to me than makeup that doesn't last all day. I've worn all types of makeup, including many brands of mascaras that would slowly wear off as the day progressed. I purchase makeup in order to look good all day, not just a couple hours, and who has time to constantly reapply makeup all day long? I certainly don't. The Cover Girl mascara far surpassed my expectations and I am very satisfied with this product.
I believe that I made a good decision by purchasing the two different mascaras and trying them both out for two weeks at a time. It gave me the opportunity to see how these products performed in order to help me find the best one for me. As for which one is superior, I would have to say that both products are equal. Neither is better than the other and I would recommend both to women looking for high-quality yet reasonably-priced mascara.I will continue to purchase both mascaras as long as I can find them in stores for relatively reasonable prices.
