First up is Maybelline's Cover Stick Corrector Concealer. This product came in a stick form shaped and packaged much like a lipstick and costs me $5 at Wal-Mart. What I like about this product is that it came in a lipstick like stick which made applying it easy. That's really the only positive thing about this product. There are many things about this product that I don't like. It's a yellow concealer stick that's meant to cover up dark under eye circles but it doesn't do a very good job of it. This concealer is very thick and makes it difficult to spread, and the one thing you don't want to do is pull the skin around you eyes because it will cause bags. Maybelline's Cover stick corrector concealer is also very heavy, another thing you don't want out of a concealer you'll be using on the sensitive skins around your eyes. The makeup smell to it is pretty strong even when I haven't applied the product yet. I can smell it right out of the tube. What bothers me the most about this concealer is that not only does it not cover up but it makes any lines around my eyes noticeable. I'm pretty sure the heavy product even made the lines worse by dragging down my skin.
Now for Physicians Formula Magic Cube concealer in yellow. I got my magic cube at Walgreens for about $5. Although the packaging is cute and comes with a handy little mirror it's not as convenient as a stick concealer. The small cube size is great for when you want to throw it in your bag and go. Unlike the stick form you won't have to worry about the cap accidentally coming off and making a mess inside your bag. The bad thing about this is you'd either have to apply it with your fingers or use a concealer brush. What I like about this product is that it has a creamy texture but goes on almost like powder. It's very light weight, gives great coverage, stays put all day, is waterproof, and here's no scent to it as far as I can tell.
Between Maybelline's Cover Stick Corrector Concealer and Physicians Formula Magic Cube concealer in yellow I'd have to go with Physicians Formula magic cube, hands down. Not only is it about the same price as Maybelline's concealer but it works so much better and it's waterproof! Physicians Formula is for sure the better buy.
