Maybelline's Unstoppable Eyeliner VS. Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner

If you're anything like me, you love cosmetics. Cosmetics can bring light to your face. And one of the best tools to achieve dramatic effects when wearing make-up is eyeliner. Eyeliner has been known to make eyes "pop". In other words, eyeliners help eyes stand out and become the main focus of your face. So, in order to successfully achieve this effect, a girl must buy good quality eyeliner. It's not as easy as it seems. I have tested two types of eyeliner from drug-store brands, Revlon and Maybelline. The Revlon eyeliner that I put to the test was Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner in Black. Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner is supposed to "glide on easily adding drama and definition to your eyes for up to sixteen hours. The waterproof formula won't smear, smudge or fade." (This information was found in Revlon's website, www.revlon.com.) Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner comes in eight shades, which are: Black, Black-Brown, Brown, Charcoal, Navy, Vixen/Blackberry, Taupe/Cocoa, and Teal. I have to say that I was definitely not impressed with Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner. I purchased the shade in black. The first thing I noticed when I tried applying Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner on the inner rim of my eye is that the color didn't go on smoothly at all. In fact, I had to go over the line several times in order to get some color to show. I honestly don't know where Revlon is getting the water-proof part. While wearing Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner, I barely sneezed and my eyes got slightly watery, and then Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner decided to quit working on me. There was definite smudging and smearing going on. I had that raccoon-look going on, which is definitely not the look I was going for. To give Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner the benefit of a doubt, I re-applied Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner and tried so successfully make it through the day, but to no avail. This stuff did not stay on. The natural tears of your eyes will make Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner smear under your eyelid. In fact, particles that flaked off Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner got into my eye and caused irritation. I had to finally give up on Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner. The only thing good about Revlon's Colorstay Eyeliner was that it wasn't that easy to remove. Surprise, surprise.

And then there's Maybelline's Unstoppable Eyeliner. Maybelline's Unstoppable Eyeliner everything a girl could want for in eyeliner without the price that would cost you an arm and a leg. This eyeliner worked like a dream. Maybelline's Unstoppable Eyeliner was so easy to apply. You only had to make one line, and that was it. The color was rich and it was non-irritating to the eye, even when I wear contacts. Maybelline's Unstoppable Eyeliner's claim to fame is that the application is ultra-smooth and helps you get that effect of defined lines for your eyes. Also, Maybelline's Unstoppable Eyeliner has a self-sharpening device instilled that helps you achieve a finer point for more precision. Also, Maybelline's Unstoppable Eyeliner supposedly doesn't budge, according to Maybelline. Maybelline's Unstoppable Eyeliner is waterproof and meant for all day wear, and it is also ophthalmologist tested, so it is safe for those with sensitive eyes and for those that wear contact lenses. In my opinion, there is not one bit of sweet little lie in Maybelline's claim for Maybelline's Unstoppable Eyeliner. Not one. And unlike the aforementioned Revlon product, Maybelline's Unstoppable Eyeliner lives up to its water-proof status. You can get through a bout of Titanic, minus the raccoon look. For me, the most amazing thing is the richness of the color, and the fact that it glides on so effortlessly. On most days, I would have thought that Revlon blew Maybelline out the roof, but when it comes to eyeliners, Maybelline definitely reigns supreme in my book!
