Mayonnaise and honey hair treatments can be done with simple ingredients, or other natural ingredients like avocado can be added to create a rich hair mask.
Here is a basic recipe for a mayonnaise and honey treatment:
• 1 cup of mayonnaise
• 1 Avocado
• 2 Tablespoons of honey
The simple mask is mixed together and then massaged into dry hair, while concentrating on the tips of hair where split ends and dryness occur. Use a shower cap to cover the hair and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse the mayonnaise and honey hair treatment out in a warm shower while massaging the scalp to get the blood flow going, which also helps stimulate hair growth and health.
Once the treatment is washed out completely, use a clarifying or moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to get hair strands completely clean. For those who have dry hair, using a shampoo and conditioner that adds moisture is ideal to create shiny and smooth hair.
Even though mayonnaise might seem like an unusual product to apply to hair, mayonnaise and honey are ideal ingredients to use since they create shiny, soft hair. Try experimenting with the basic mayonnaise and honey hair treatment by adding other natural ingredients like essential oils and olive oil. Combining a blend of these natural ingredients gives hair the deep conditioning it needs to be healthy and manageable. Use a few drops of essential oils like Rosemary or Lavender to create a unique hair treatment.
Use the mask at least once a week in the event of dry or brittle hair. Using a thick mask any more frequently than that can cause buildup to occur, so try a light spray- in conditioner to use throughout the day. Protecting the hair from elements such as the hot sun or an over-chlorinated pool will help keep hair healthy and shiny especially throughout the summer. Wash the hair every other day if possible to keep from stripping natural moisture and oils from the hair. The best way to dry hair is to use a towel and let it air dry however, using a blow dryer is often more efficient but try to keep it on a low or cool setting to prevent damage.
