McCain Made My Trip in Miami the Best It's Ever Been

MIAMI, Florida, October 17 - My trip to Miami would have been just like every other trip I've ever taken there this year had it not been for the life changing McCain rally that I was able to attend. It started off at the beach, on Friday, when we met some college students from the Florida International University who were talking about how they were going to see McCain. They came up to us and asked who we were voting for. Immediately we answered that we shared the same political views as they did, thus we were going to be voting McCain officially.

Our Saturday started off with a shopping spree to find the best republican red gear to wear in order to represent my extreme republican pride. The doors were set to open at 11am, so we were able to find a local shop selling campaign wear early on in the morning and decided that we would buy some t-shirts, caps, and a McCain-Palin bracelet that I will wear until election day.

When we arrived at the university, parking seemed to be something that would be impossible to find, however we met the sweetest older couple outside the venue who guided us to an open space very close to the arena entrance.

Since almost all sorts of stuff was banned from entering the arena with us, all we took was our gear, and our enthusiasm in. Other things like headgear was allowed, so we made sure to put on our caps. I couldn't wait to see what the arena would look like from the inside, but I was imagining something resembling the videos I see on CNN of the rallies going on in other cities.

As soon as we got in, we met about 10 different people who were also very excited to see the Arizona senator, and we ended up getting 3rd row seats. I wont forget this one lady who came up to me, and said how much she enjoyed seeing a young lady there to support someone who isn't young and hip like Obama. All I could do was say thank you, and giggle a little. I didn't know if she was saying that as a compliment or as a insult.

So as the rally started, the whole crowd gave McCain a well deserved standing ovation while he proceeded to shake hands, and to give a quick hello to everyone in the audience. His smile looked so pleasant, so genuine, and he was accompanied by several others whom, we assumed were people who work on the campaign trail. After posing for some photos for

As his speech went on, the most memorable moments were when he was speaking of his family members who have been in Iraq for long tours. I enjoyed how he was really able to connect with the crowd on that level. People were actually crying, and were very emotional as he was laying out his plan for the American people and their loved ones over seas at war.

Something else that also hit home with me was his plan for a better economy. At this moment, I have struggled with loss in my retirement funds, loss with work bonuses and even loss with job opportunities. His plan to bring back the economy by opening out more jobs and helping those in crisis is something I'm for sure looking forward to having.

This man is probably one of the most empathetic, most educated, and most sincere person's I have ever heard speak at a rally. I am definitely looking forward to discuss all of the things that were said tonight with friends and family. Especially the ones who have different views and who aren't really educated on how McCain will run our country or who he is, what his past in, and why he has an interest in helping even the middle class have a better way of life.
