McCain and Obama Already Duking it Out

Steven Wyble
John McCain and Barack Obama are already attacking each other as if they were the for-sure nominees for their respective parties.

And, well . . . I guess they more or less are. As much as I don't want Hillary Clinton to become elected President, I think that she has less a chance of winning if she wins the Democratic party nomination. But I have a feeling that Obama might win. And, judging by the way the media salivates at the very mention of his name, I suppose they probably have a feeling he's going to win, too.

That wouldn't be good for McCain, because Obama has a level of charisma that McCain simply doesn't possess. It's even more unfortunate for the country, because no matter how he tries to avoid it, it really is clear that Obama doesn't have the experience needed to run the country in the capacity of President of the entire United States of America. John McCain does.

I'm not saying that I don't like Obama; as far as Democrats go, I would be more inclined to vote for him than a lot of others. But he still has very liberal ideas that I believe would do more harm than good for our country, and those misguided liberal ideas, coupled with his lack of experience, could spell disaster for our country.

Okay, I'm exaggerating a little; I hate it when people act like someone's going to be elected President and the country's going to utterly fall apart. When George W. Bush was elected, some people whined that the country was going to go to hell in a hand basket. And obviously a lot of people truly are peeved at President Bush, and some may even argue that the country has gone to hell, but those people are morons. This is still one of the best countries in the world, and even if things don't look as good as they may have in the past (although I'd even disagree with that assertion) things aren't bad here by any means.

But back to my main point. Whether you want to acknowledge it or not, the United States is currently embroiled in a deadly war with extremist Muslims that will stop short of nothing to see that every single United States citizen either becomes a strict follower of Islam or is killed. John McCain understands this, and John McCain has the balls to utilize our military force to see to it that these extremists are stripped of all their power and unable to kill us.

I don't think Obama does. Obama wants us out of Iraq, but the thing you have to realize is that if we leave Iraq, it's only going to exacerbate extremism in the middle east. John McCain was correct when he said that it's not an American presence in Iraq that the U.S. populace is upset about, it's U.S. casualties. But what people need to understand is that unless we get the middle east under control, starting with the extremism in Iraq, then they are going to take their jihad to the United States and there's a good chance that terrorist attacks on U.S. soil will become more frequent. And that's not good.
