Arrogant, nasty, having to prove he was right even though everyone knew he was wrong, is this Presidential material? Anger below the surface, fidgeting and sneering throughout the debate are a part of who John McCain really is.
Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee were present at the debate. But the rumble began when McCain's statements on Romney's stand on Iraq and timetables was brought up.
Even though many a pundit has politely said that McCain doesn't have his facts straight, the fact is, John McCain is lying. And the fact that he cannot admit he was wrong should send shivers up every Republican voters spine.
Along with not being able to say he is wrong, McCain acted arrogant beyond belief during last night's debate. He sat there grinning, sneering and laughing. He actually gave the impression that he had already been "crowned" the new dictator, I mean President of the United States.
The subject of Romney's flip-flopping on abortion was brought up. Romney has repeatedly said how he stands on abortion. He doesn't hide the fact that over a lifetime he has come to changes of thinking. I would rather have that than a man who will not change his mind, no matter what, as is my impression of McCain after last night's debate.
John McCain is liberal in his thinking, shown by the McCain-Feingold and McCain-Kennedy bills for starters. He admittedly said that he is not great on fiscal issues. One could cut him some slack on that if he hadn't spent the last 25 years in Washington.
And let's not forget illegal immigration and where McCain has always stood on it. That is, he stood on it before he started running for President and found out that more than conservatives were unhappy with him.
Now John McCain says that his bill will never be brought up and voted on again; he promises. What's that mean? If he is President will he just make mandates? Is he parsing words? I haven't heard John McCain say that his position on illegal immigration was wrong. I have heard him say (with venom and a sneer) that the American people didn't want it. See the problem here?
McCain showed his distaste for conservatism and money. John McCain is not conservative, but he's playing one in the run for President.
John McCain is an angry man. He seethes when questioned on things he doesn't want to talk about. He "avoids" questions that he either doesn't know the answers to or doesn't want to be found out for the liberal republican he is.
A war heroic aside, John McCain is not the end all to military issues. His unbending, snarly, angry disposition should make voters leery of having this man in total charge of our country. John McCain's temper will eventually break him.
Yep, John McCain showed his true colors last night in the California debate. But it was televised to the world. Leaders get to see McCain's nature too. Is he a bad choice for President? I think so. Hopefully we don't find out too late.

Post a CommentI'm not a fan of McCain but I'm also not a fan of any of the other candidates so that kind leaves me out in the cold, along with a lot of people in this nation.
McCain is indeed a despicable hothead. Imagine his finger on the button...
Clearly some people will disagree with this article, argue that McCain is the best candidate, and that his resolve is his strongest asset.
But, I won't make those arguments :)
This article really summarized what I saw in McCain last night, especially the part about him never saying he was wrong on immigration or that he had changed his position, just that he has to secure the border because the majority demands it.
Truer words were never spoken. I think McCain has a screw loose. Remember his song "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" Sung to the tune of Barbara Ann? This guy would make a great Democatic nominee. As a republican..no way. If he gets the nod, the republican party has lost a step and probably millions of voters.
'Wow....don't know how long this has been up, but I sure hope folks get on here and read this and THINK about what's at stake....this article pretty much sums up John McCains' preformance last night...and it wasn't pretty.
Thanks for the great recap...as usual..
