McCain Sweet Potatoe (Yam) French Fries

Finally they are here and they are awesome. Perfectly cut Sweet Potato french fries that you cook up in the oven. I have been waiting for this since I first tried these tasty yam fries at a restaurant five years ago. Yes five years and finally they are now available as of this past weekend (Easter Weekend 2009) to Joe consumer.

The McCain fries are tasty and cook right in the oven in about 12 minutes. They turn out perfectly.

If you have ever made your own sweet potato french fries from scratch you will know how much of a pain it is to do and the likelyhood of them not turning out is pretty high.
First sweet potatoes go brown once you peel them and leave them to sit out too long.
Secondly cutting raw sweet potatoes by hand into french fries is dangerous to say the least.

This product is awesome for the following reasons.
Precut flash frozen Yam fries that go right into the oven. No oil no mess. You can actually serve them as alternative side dish for french fries and other vegetables.

They are really good and they have no trans fat. I make a lemon aioli as a dipping sauce but they are great on their own.

The only issue I have is that the bags are relatively small. Enough for a family of four but no more. They are priced adequately considering the labour they are taking out of doing this yourself.

I would totally recommend this product for singles, young families, couples, anyone that wants a tasty alternative to the french fry.
