McFadden for Heisman

TheFanNJ, and the Fans Have His Back

After his outstanding performance this weekend, which resulted in Arkansas beating LSU. I think that was my sign and sealed ticket to vote for Darren McFadden as Heisman of this year? This year alone was an up and down season of haywire events. It started with Michigan losing to Appalachian State, and from there on the top teams where in upset mode. McFadden rushed for 206 yards, while gaining 3TD's on the ground and one by air.

McFadden also passed Florida's Errict Rhett (1990-93) for fourth place on the SEC career-rushing list this season. He now has 4,191 yards in his 35-game career, which is pretty impressive to my eyes. McFadden finished with his 20th-career 100-yard rushing game and his second in two career games vs. Tennessee; this is also a touching moment for the McFadden Haters. Is He this year's Heisman; YES, why, well look at what Tim Tebow has done, and then you will say he is a QB. Yes, and this award is too much bodywork for a QB, we praise the QB for touching the ball on offense as the second person to touch it in all of the plays.

This year alone even in defeat Darren McFadden made this team a bunch of contenders. The Heisman trophy is about the most electrifying player in all of college football. If you are not excited when McFadden touches the ball then you are not a football fan. Tim Tebow is in a system where he can run and pass for those numbers. Also, Tim Tebow doesn't have a McFadden like running back in his backfield, so those rushing plays are designed plays. If Tim had a running back in that backfield those numbers in the running game will be cut to 8. Regardless, of the numbers, McFadden has given their QB some spotlight with teams loading up the box.

"The only one close to what Darren has done is Barry Sanders," says Arkansas coach Houston Nutt, who was on the staff at Oklahoma State when Sanders had multiple 300-yard games and won the Heisman in 1988. "Darren put on that type of show," reported by mcfaddenforheisman.com

He made me change my mind about Ray Rice, and I am a New Jersey fan. I say that is pretty hard to do.

The Heisman is given to the most outstanding player. Remember when Peyton Manning was up for it but lost to Charles Woodson. Many past Heisman winners have done little in the NFL, for one Danny Wuerffel. The spectators need to think about their choice and send an great player to the NFL with big honors. McFaaden has that ability.

(con't) Tebow had some ridiculous 51 touchdowns this year alone. Of course they don't have a running game, but there are several Division I colleges who don't yet I don't see there QB going out there and putting up numbers like that. Also, does Arkansas have a good quarterback? Is it safe to say he wouldn't have that many yards over his career if the offense wasn't geared towards him running? Good article to talk about thanks for sharing

wow, thats a pretty strong assessment about McFadden. Just for the sake of argument isn't the Heisman for the Most Outstanding Player? If it was the most electrifying player McFadden isn't even close to this year's crop. He did have an awesome game against LSU for sure! Very enjoyable to watch, but one game doesn't make him Heisman this year, nor does an entire career.
