McFarlane's Monster Series 3: Six Faces of Madness

The next installment of Todd McFarlane's horror-themed action figures is McFarlane's Monsters Series 3: Six Faces of Madness - and the subtitle of this series doesn't disappoint. This is a close-up, highly-detailed, sculptured look at some of the most infamous, real life horror icons throughout the ages...all as seen through the eyes of Todd McFarlane. This set is really the first line of action figures designed by Todd McFarlane that absolutely are not designed for children - some of these figures are actually quite graphic.

First up in this line of action figures, which was released in June of 2004 is the brutal barbarian known as Attila the Hun. This is an amazingly detailed figure, which depicts the ruthless leader perched atop a pile of bloody, severed human heads. Axe in one hand and with a dagger on his side, it is obvious that Attila has yet even more work to be done.

Billy the Kid comes next, complete with his cowboy hat and long brown trench coat. He is equipped with several guns, and stands at the ready for a classic Wild West shootout.

Third in McFarlane's Monsters Series 3: Six Faces of Madness is Elizabeth Bathory - and while you may not know her name, you have probably heard of her, and McFarlane depicts her just how she is most famous. Elizabeth lays bathing in a pool of blood from slaughtered young women, her own fountain of youth. Next to her stands a candelabra with 3 impaled heads.

Next we have Jack the Ripper, the infamous London serial killer. Standing on a dark street corner in London, he is wearing his bowler hat and blood covered white apron. Jack carries with him a leather bag that is dripping with gruesome red blood.

The fifth figure in the series is Rasputin, the psychotic monk from Siberia. McFarlane depicts him hanging out in his laboratory - literally, hanging via ropes and several hooks that are pierced through the skin of his back. He is surrounded by various potions and concoctions, of who-knows-what.

Vlad the Impaler is the last figure in this series. Standing on blood-stained rock, the true-life Dracula is wearing his gold crown and wielding a long spear for the impalement of his victims - his preferred form of killing. Of course, he is also equipped with a large sword for back up, too.

Todd McFarlane also designed an accessory pack to coincide with the release of McFarlane's Monsters Series 3: Six Faces of Madness. This comes with some additional guns for Billy the Kid, some extra bottles for Rasputin, a wooden stake for Vlad the Impaler and even more.
