McFarlane's Monsters Series 4: Twisted Fairy Tales

Todd McFarlane has expanded on his popular line of horror-themed, not-meant-for-children action figures with this newest set, McFarlane's Monster Series 4: Twisted Fairy Tales. And just as the name implies, Todd McFarlane has taken some of the most beloved and classic icons from all of the most popular children's fairy tales and transformed them here in his hideous, nightmarish renditions. So without further ado, here is my review of McFarlane's Monsters Series 4: Twisted Fairy Tales.

Gretel, the German princess is first up in McFarlane's Twisted Fairy Tales. This beautiful seductress is dressed in ripped leather and fishnet stockings, and comes complete with blood-soaked mop and bucket.

And of course you can't have Gretel without her brother, Hansel - and he is next in the review. Trapped in a cage that is hanging from a large candy cane, he is forever in torture as he can do nothing but drool over the mounds of candy that lay just out of his reach beneath the cage.

Peter Pumpkin Eater is next, and one of the wickedest depictions of all the Twisted Fairy Tales. He is seen here as a zombie like form, wielding a large axe in one hand and holding the top of a pumpkin in the other. Next to him sits the large pumpkin with a dead body stuffed inside.

Next we have Little Miss Muffet, and if you are familiar with the fairy tale, you know that she had a run in with a spider. The tale can be seen here as the rave-girl version of Miss Muffet is being mauled by a gargantuan black spider.

Humpty Dumpty is a morbidly obese, disgusting figure - and perhaps my favorite of all in this series. He sits in front of a broken wall, maggots and blood gushing from the open wounds and sores that dot his pale, misshapen body.

In McFarlane's Monsters Series 4: Twisted Fairy Tales, Red Riding Hood has grown up from a little innocent girl to a full grown and fully-developed woman - and she has gotten her revenge on the big bad wolf. Wearing her long red cape and a skimpy black leather outfit with thigh high red spiked boots, Red Riding Hood holds the disemboweled body of the wolf in front of her for all to see.

As previously stated, these action figures are in no way intended for children. Todd McFarlane has designed and released these figures with an older, mature audience in mind that value the collectability and the uniqueness of these figures above anything else.
