Propped up on one of these cypress knees
Listening to the buzzin' bees
Watching a toad, slurp at every bug he sees
No better way to spend a day
Before leaving behind the month of May
It gives me a chance to hear GOD say
"My child, I like spending time with you this way."
He says, "you're the apple of my eye "
Although, sometimes I question...... why ?
Because it seems, that no matter how hard I try,
Still...... at times, satan tricks me with a lie
But GOD knows that I have trials and tribulations
And that sometimes I get myself into bad situations
Which, for myself I try to find justification
Then, trying to fix it alone leads to failure and frustration......
That's when I'm reminded of how much GOD cares
When I call his name, I know He'll be right there
With intent, He listens to my every prayer
He never turns away, when I cry out to him in despair
Yes, time spent with GOD gives me such peace
In the city, or sittin' out here on these cypress knees
Nothing can compare, with times like these
Just me and GOD, sittin' under these trees.
