Meade 114EQ ASTR Reflector - Product Review

Lovemyviews
My son has had a real fondness when it comes to stars. For about two years now, he has been asking me for a telescope. I haven't really looked into it because telescope are expensive. Don't get me wrong, I could easily buy a real cheap one but who wants to look at stars through a cheap telescope?

I use to have one as a kid so I wanted my son to have a good one as well. I bought the Meade Auto Star Telescope from Wal-Mart for $109. This price was exceptionally great for me because most Meade telescopes are more expensive than the one I purchased. But there was a huge difference between the Meade 114EQ ASTR Reflector and other telescopes I've ever bought.

What I liked about the Meade 114EQ ASTR Reflector

The main thing I liked about Meade 114EQ ASTR Reflector was that it was small and easy to set up. It didn't take up much space in my sons room and it fit perfectly on his window sill.

Another thing that I liked about the Meade 114EQ ASTR Reflector was that for only $109 it worked like a charm. I think I like looking through it more than my son does. It's made for the young astronomer and it's great for star gazing but even more perfect for looking at the planets and the moon.

This isn't your average telescope and that is what I like the most about it. You get past the stars and go straight to space. I've been able to view the Great orion as well as the Andromeda galaxy.

This telescope captures up to 361% more light than your average telescope and that's why I love it. My son finds it very fun to use because it allows him to step outside the world around him.

Ase far as the extra features that come with the Meade 114EQ ASTR Reflector, there's a DVD that comes with it which helps my son understand exactly what he is working with. It also teaches my son about the planets which I found very educational.

My conclusion?

If you want your child to learn close up about the planets that surround them, then you may want to consider buying the Meade 114EQ ASTR Reflector. It might be a little costly but believe me it's worth the purchase. It out performs your average telescope and plus it's just all around cool for any child to have.
