Meaningful Relationships

Reflective Relationship Poetry

Wendy Dawn
Laughter and jostling open the gateway.
Oblique conversation keeps them at bay.
Idle chatter's not in the way.
How long do words of vanity stay?

Deep conversations and coffee displayed.
Protection kept true cards from being played.
Ruse of friendship has now been made.
How will even this shallow debt be paid?

Time and circumstance turn over in years.
Self preservation swallows joys and tears.
Good news is what they want to hear.
Is time giving up on the false endeared?

Cynicism and sarcasm hide the pain.
Deflection does not allow it a name.
Hollow laughter is such a shame.
Is this what they mean by playing the game?

Silence and consent utter not a word.
Ignorance does not need to be heard.
Best wishes only build their nerve.
Will silence suffice, unobserved?

Fate and destiny glare in the spaces.
Control kept all in line with the faces.
Freedom's kiss trumps even aces.
Will passion give voice to the soul it traces?

Thank you for your kind comments. This poem about relationships is very soul searching for me personally. If it helps you to look inward or achieve a step in the direction you need to go in your relationship, I'm blessed that the work touched you. Thanks.

Seriously impressive, love the progression gives a sense of relief as suppressed feelings emerge.
